A 16-year-old who allegedly attempted to murder his cousin was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

The teen was not required to plead to the charge when it was read to him by Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.

According to reports, on March 1 at Maicobi Village, Potaro River, Essequibo the youth was drinking with his cousin when the two began to argue.

Subsequently the teen allegedly picked up an object and hit his cousin Milton Williams who is now in a critical condition at the hospital.

The matter has been transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court for April 9.
