Bees in the Monument

Apiculturist Wayne Baker takes a look at the approximately 50,000 bees which had made the inside of the Enmore Martyrs monument their home. In this Jules Gibson photo taken on Saturday, several honey combs are visible under the covering at the top of the monument. The monument was being prepared for yesterday’s 60th commemoration of the martyrs but it had to be postponed because of the inclement weather.(June 17, 2008)
