Guyana Institute of Historical Research

Participants at a Guyana Institute of Historical Research (GIHR) forum yesterday on eradicating poverty in the African-Guyanese community. The forum, which was held at the Conference Room of the National Library dealt with such topics as poverty, housing, literacy, private education, women, business and the role of men. Speakers included Eric Phillips, Winston Browne, Gillian Burton, Patrice La Fleur and Sarah Parris. It was chaired by Hazel Woolford and Aubrey Norton. (Photo by Aubrey Crawford)
