Police arrested a man yesterday afternoon who was wanted pending investigations into the attempted murder of his girlfriend.

The woman was shot in her abdomen some time back.
In a press release issued yesterday the police stated that the man was arrested on Croal Street.

A search was conducted on the man and an unlicensed .32 Taurus revolver along with six matching rounds were found in his possession, the police said. The man has been arrested and charges will be laid shortly.
