History must not repeat itself

Dear Editor,

Sometimes turning back the pages of history can be painful and your very comprehensive and detailed report of the Bartica Massacre in SN of February 16 is but a grim reminder of that dark day in our history.

Like many others I had not forgotten, but chose not to rewind back into history since a similar report on the Lusignan massacre had been previously given. And by coincidence your article is coupled with other grim and tragic stories all with one message of violence and death.

We must strive not to let history like this one repeat itself. My sympathy to all the relatives and friends of the deceased.

Yours faithfully,
(Name and address provided)
