Why have senior judicial appointments not been made?

Dear Editor,

In the ‘good old days’ one was put on probation for a period of three months, after which you were either confirmed on the job or you were dismissed.

Today, however, we have, an acting Chancellor, a position for which there is no constitutional authority, an acting Chief Justice and an acting Chief Magistrate.

Editor, what earthly excuse is there for not appointing these people or sending them home? Those responsible for making these appointments ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Yours faithfully,
R J Eleazar
