Anthony was adjudged best boxer for his excellent performance during the two-day competition when he defeated Guyana Defence Force’s (GDF) Romano Clark via the RSC route on the opening night and Alden Fraser (GDF) by a unanimous decision on the closing night in the light welterweight category.

Junior national boxer and Ricola Warriors team member Clive Atwell also remained undefeated throughout the tournament closing off his two for two record with a win over GDF’s Ray Sandyford, who looked a worthy opponent in the first half of the fight, but later showed his tiredness which Atwell exploited to land more scoring shots for victory.

Kevis Wilson (GDF) avenged the loss of his gym mate Owain David when he defeated Jermain Dow (FYF) in a thrilling middle bout that saw some big power shots coming from both opponents, but it was Wilson who had the edge in the judges’ eyes and was awarded the win.

GDF’s Carl Halley fighting out of the blue corner defeated team mate Junior Small in their light heavyweight bout, while Port Kaituma’s Roy Albert fell to FYF’s Devon Charles in a bantamweight bout.

In other results Clevon Rock gained a walkover from Harpy Eagles’ Ryan Alli after he failed to show up for their bantamweight match, whilst Anthony Narine (HE) was the pick of the night against Young Achievers’ Brian Manning in the lightweight category.

In the female group Amanda Charles defeated Harpy Eagles’ gym mate Mandesa Moses in a light welterweight bout, and Ansila Norville got the better of Tenesha Norville (both of HE) in their light flyweight bout.
