Waramuri, Chase Academy, to contest championship final

Milo Secondary Schools Football

Waramuri of Region #1 and Chase Academy will battle for the coveted Milo Secondary School Football Championship on Sunday evening, following semifinal wins yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Waramuri came from two goals behind to defeat Dolphin 4-3 on penalty kicks after fulltime ended 2-2.

Prior to the aforesaid conclusion, Zundel Abrams and Odell Holmes recorded second-half goals in the 46th and 62nd minutes, respectively, to restore parity to proceedings after Ezekiel David and Candel Hazel had given Dolphin the first-half advantage following conversions in the third and 11th minutes apiece.

Meanwhile, Chase Academy downed President’s College 4-0. Bryan Wharton, Justin Alcindor, Omar Sam, and Shaquan David scored in the 15th, 19th, 79th, and 80th minutes, respectively. The losing semifinalists will compete in the earlier third-place playoff.
