Guyanese music icon Eddy Grant will play at the IPL Miss Bollywood South Africa pageant tonight when 16 models, actresses, professionals and students vie for the title.

The Scene has learned that Eddy, currently in South Africa to perform at the IPL cricket semifinal and final was approached to join the glitzy event.
Among the judges are Bollywood actresses Shilpa Shetty and Katrina Kaif; former Miss Universe Michelle McLean and former Miss South Africa Joanne Strauss; Fashion TV owner Michele Adam and Francois Pienaar, who led the South African side to victory in the Rugby World Cup some years ago. The 16 finalists will vie for a prize package that could also feature an audition for a Bollywood role.
Meanwhile, at Sunday’s IPL final a few verses of Eddy’s “Gimme Hope Joanna” will be sung in Hindi. Akon has been listed among the performers as well.
