A release from the group recently said that in “keeping with a mandate to ensure that leisure lovers enjoy quality entertainment” it will host the ‘Jamzone Summer Break Weekend’ between August 27 and 30.

It is expected that that two concerts would be held over the weekend, one for dance hall and reggae lovers and the other for soca and chutney followers, and they are expected to feature the best artiste in Guyana, the Caribbean and elsewhere. The group said the artistes have already been secured and it would release the details at a later date.

The weekend will round off with the crowning of the ninth Miss Jamzone, preceded by a fun day and beach jam.

Recruitment of the contestants of the pageant has already commenced and those who are interested must be between the ages of 18-26. They can pick up applications forms from Nanda’s Boutique, Street Styles, Lifestyles Boutique, Changing Room, Fusion Taxi Service and at HJtv Channel 72. The closing date for applications is June 30.

The queen will walk away with a multi-million dollar car while the runners-up would take home a scooter and other prizes.
