James Blunt on DIRECTV this weekend

DIRECTV and Cityvibe’s exclusive concert series on Channel 999 continues this weekend with James Blunt.

James Blunt is an English singer-songwriter whose debut album, Back to Bedlam, and single releases, especially “You’re Beautiful”, brought him to fame in 2005. His repertoire is a mix of pop, rock, and acoustic-tinged folk.

In the nearly four years since Blunt released ‘Back to Bedlam’, he’s sold 11 million CDs worldwide, with the album going to No. 1 in 18 countries and top 10 in 35. A short list of accomplishments includes being nominated for five Grammys, landing the first No. 1 single in the U.S. by a British act (“You’re Beautiful”), since Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind” in 1997 and winning two MTV Awards and two Brit Awards.

That seemingly sudden rush to superstardom and the attendant experiences make up the lyrical content of ‘All The Lost Souls’, his second album. The 10-song cycle about life-and death shows tremendous growth from 2005’s ‘Back to Bedlam’, which Blunt calls “a very honest, slightly naive collection of thoughts, emotions, and experiences”.

“Goodbye My Lover”, “Same Mistake”, and “Carry You Home” are just some other hit singles that Blunt is known for. Blunt’s concerts on DIRECTV Channel 999 started yesterday and will continue today and tomorrow. Viewers are promised an electrifying live performance from Blunt featuring singles “You’re Beautiful”, “1973” and more.
