Father’s Day in the cycling community pedals off with the Castrol-sponsored 11th Annual Father’s Day 50 Miles Cycle Road Race on Sunday.
The race meet which is organized by national cycling coach Hassan Mohamed will commence from Wales Police Station at 09:00hrs, proceed to Bushy Park on the East Bank of Essequibo before returning to the Demerara Harbour Bridge for the finish.
The veterans and upright cyclists will turn back at Uitvlugt Community Centre and finish at the Harbour Bridge.
The first six finishers will receive prizes, while the first three juniors, upright and veterans will also receive prizes.
Eight prime prizes will be won during the course of the race and the first veteran over 60 years to finish will receive a special prize from the organizer.
Castrol brand manager Leonard Khan will distribute the prizes to the winning participants at the conclusion of the event.
