Link Show 26 opens on February 20

Presented again this year by the Theatre Company and GEMS Theatre Productions, the Link Show satirises prominent government and private sector persons; situations in the country and anything else that is an issue, a press release from GEMS Theatre Productions said. Nothing is sacred; one is spared.

The 30-plus cast includes veterans like Henry Rodney, Nazim Hussain, Howard Lorimer, Derek Gomes, Rajan Tiwari, Ajay Baksh, Lavonne George, Simone Dowding, Sherry Ann Dyal, Sonia Yarde, Sheldon Braithwaite, Michael Ignatius, Troy Parboo and Nicola Moonsammy. Others who were very new to the last Link Show and return in Link Show 26 include Linden ‘Jumbie’ Jones, Kijana Lewis, Tishondra Innis, Clement Stanford, Quesi Edmondson, Abigail Brower Tonaisea Robertson and Theressa Tyson. Newcomers include Francis Bailey, Raymond Persaud, Paul and Sean Budnah, Kyle Isaacs and Lynynus Adams.

The first Link Show was performed in December 1981 and this production has become a family tradition on an annual basis. It is the only satirical production of its kind in Guyana and has grown in popularity over the years.
