The National Cultural Centre (NCC) will come alive next Saturday when the First Assembly of God (FAOG) hosts GospelFest ‘10 under the theme: The Experience.
Over the years GospelFest has been used as an avenue to promote local talent and to provide a stage that has taken local artistes across the Caribbean and further afield. GospelFest is now in its 24th year and has crossed cultural and denominational barriers, with many local gospel artistes having made their debut at GospelFest, according to a statement from the church.
“GospelFest is returning to a single night of celebrating the creative and performing arts and seeks to minister to a wide audience through song, dance and drama,” it added.
The church said patrons can expect newcomers Jenelle Pierre, Tiffany David and Jewel Waldron with Second Coming Band, Yohan Jackman and Pastor McDonald from Linden as some of the established artistes performing at this year’s GospelFest.
“We will also be entertained by popular playwright Fitzroy Tyrrell along with our signature ‘Granny’ played by Miranda Austin. And you can depend on the FAOG Dance groups for their usual stellar performances,” the statement read.
Tickets cost $1,000, $800 and $700 and can be purchased at Nigel’s Supermarket, Fon Roje, NCC and FAOG Wortmanville.
