Seromanie Choomanlall is Miss Queen of Essequibo

Seromanie Choomanlall raced past her nine competitors on Saturday last to be crowned Miss Queen of Essequibo 2010, at a pageant promoted by the Lake Mainstay Resort and held at the Anna Regina Community Centre.

Sauda Elisia Roberts, Diana Hussain, Malika Courtman and Neisha Fredricks were the first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.

The 19-year-old Choomanlall, who has won also for herself $600,000 in cash and prizes including a trip to Kaieteur Falls and a weekend for two at Lake Mainstay Resort, said she would use the opportunities now presented to promote Region Two. The queen said, expressing happiness at winning, said the next step for her would be to represent the region at the Miss Guyana Universe Pageant next year.

Lake Mainstay CEO Wilfred Jadnarine announced that he will be promoting the pageant as an annual event. He added that this will help to promote tourism.
