Man allegedly burnt by brother succumbs

Orin Cornelius, who was allegedly set alight by his older brother, succumbed to his injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Tuesday.

Cornelius was severely burnt about his body after a lit stove was hurled at him, causing him to become engulfed in flames on Monday.

His father, Eugene Cornelius, sustained less severe injuries. The two were referred to the Georgetown Hospital from the Bartica Hospital.

Reports are that Orin, a miner of Karrau, Region 7, and his brother were drinking when an argument erupted, leading them to the kitchen. Orin is said to have pushed his brother into the stove, and in retaliation, his brother allegedly threw the lit stove at him. His brother is in police custody.
