Dear Editor,
There will be a serious outbreak of disease of some sort if no attention is paid to the Bartica garbage dumpsite. The present dumpsite is over-filled with garbage. Garbage is now dumped on the Public Road, and cars, trucks and pedestrians have to plough through it to pass. As for the stench, I feel sorry for the residents and schoolchildren around that area. The Bartica NDC doesn’t seem to care a damn, and we, the residents, are calling on the Minister of Local Government to intervene. There is equipment with rubber wheels up here that could assist by pushing the garbage, but their tyres would get damaged. We need a bulldozer with metal tracks or a frontend loader. There are mischievous people who are trying to make things look bad all because of elections, so please, whoever this may concern, Bartica is sending an SOS about garbage now.
The police are doing a really fine job during this election period. They are responding to calls and reports; it is good to know that our community is safe.
It is very congested in First and Second Avenues. We have lots of vehicles and it is difficult to drive. First and Second Avenues should be one-ways.
