Seven to vie for Miss Linden Town Week title

This year, seven beauties will vie for the Miss Linden Town Week title. Promoted by Live Wire Productions, the theme of the pageant this year is ‘The Dawning Of Eve’.
On April 21, the seven candidates will match intellect and wit in the intelligence segment at the Watooka Complex. The swimsuit segment is billed for Easter Monday, April 25 at the Watooka Poolside.

On April 30 the pageant will be staged at MSC Ground and will feature the talent, evening gown, costume, aptitude and exhibition swimsuit segments. Also expected on stage that night are musical acts Jory, Dianna Chapman, Troy ‘Genesis’ Porter, Yolan Nedd and others. The main sponsors of this year’s event include Banks DIH, Digicel, Bosai Minerals Incorporated, LJ Shopping Zone, Watooka Complex, the National Communications Network and Church’s Chicken. Hoping to wear the crown are:

Diena Nikita Dolphin – Diena is 23 years and she will wear the sash of Miss Sunflower Street. She loves reading dancing, singing, listening to music and modelling. She is a final year student at the University of Guyana majoring in tourism. Her ambition is to become a chain manager at a resort or hotel.

Nickita McFarlane –Miss Watooka, Nicketa is 18 years old and is a student of the Linden Technical Institute in the business stream. She enjoys writing songs, singing and dancing. She hopes one day to be singing on the international scene and to own a business.

Toshana Allicock – At 17 years old, Toshana, Miss Kara Kara, finds pleasure in reading, listening to music and modelling. She des-cribes herself as a self-motivated teen who aspires to be one of the most successful lawyers in the Caribbean. She graduated at number 4 among the top performers for Linden at the 2010 CSEC examination. She has a passion for helping the less fortunate.

Kenicha Ronella-Small – At 18 years old, she is sixth form student at the Mackenzie High School aspiring to become an economist. She enjoys reading, writing and socializing with new people. She is sponsored by L&J Shopping Centre.

Dianna Joseph –Miss Speightland aka Lower Kara Kara, Dianna who is 16 years old is aspiring to become a medical doctor. Her hobbies are reading singing dancing and communicating with others and playing outdoor games.


Taneila Croal –
Wearing the sash of Miss Half Mile, 18-year-old Taneila attends the University of Guyana and is in the medical science field. She loves reading, modelling and writing. She is aspiring to become a medical doctor.

Laketa McPhoy – Laketa who is 22 years old, will represent Industrial Area. She loves modelling playing volleyball and reading. She hopes to manage and own her own business some day soon. She is a customer service representative for Clear Connect Guyana Inc and a part-time promotional model for Digicel.
