The police say that at about 1900h tonight, inmates at the New Opportunity Corps, Onderneeming, Essequibo Coast, broke out of their dormitories and into the compound of the complex. It is suspected that one or more of them secreted themselves and subsequently broke the locks to the dormitories, the police said.
A number of them, the total of whom has not been confirmed up to the time of this press release, managed to escape out of the compound and a search has been launched for their recapture by the Joint Services. So far, four of them have been recaptured.
