GPOC treats as priority the sorting and delivery of utility bills and other mail

Dear Editor,

In response to the caption carried in your letters column of September 18, 2012, captioned ‘Utility bills are delivered late in some parts of WCD,’ the Guyana Post Office Corporation would like to thank the customer for the complaint. We do apologise to all the affected customers for the inconvenience caused or embarrassment they may have experienced due to the late delivery of utility bills in the areas mentioned.

We will be further discussing with the utility companies the issue of getting bills to us in a timely manner, so in turn we can get them to customers way before the due date.

In relation to mail being delivered to the wrong address, we are investigating the report with a view to corrective action. We can assure the public that the Guyana Post Office Corporation assigns 100% priority to the sorting and delivery of utility bills and all mail.

Yours faithfully,
Nicola Berkley
