Scissors thrown by older boy stuck in child’s head

A 13-year-old Student of the Patentia Secondary School is currently undergoing surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital to remove a pair of scissors from his head after another student threw it at him.

Mother of the boy, Barbara Miggins, told Stabroek News that her son, Neil Marcom Miggins, a first former, was rushed to the GPH after a fifth form boy threw the scissors at him, after he brushed against him as they passed each other on the school stairway.

The scissors stuck in the child’s head and teachers hurried to his aid. An ambulance was called and he was rushed to the GPH.

The fifth former, a 17- year-old, is currently in police custody.
