Tuschen man dies after car crashes into shop

Derek Kissoon, 27,  of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) died yesterday morning after the car he was driving crashed into a shop at Farm.

Shazim Hanif,  25, of Zeelugt,  EBE,  who was a passenger, suffered injuries.

The police said in a release yesterday that enquiries revealed that the car, PVV 8589 was proceeding west along the southern drive lane of the Farm public road allegedly at a fast rate. While approaching a turn on the public road Kissoon lost control of the vehicle, struck the shop and ended up in a trench on the southern side of the public road.

The driver was picked up in an unconscious state along with the occupant and transported to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, West Coast Demerara.

The driver was pronounced dead on arrival while Hanif  was admitted as a patient.  Hanif’s condition is regarded as stable.
