Ghana navy holds vessel travelling from Guyana with suspected cocaine

The Ghanaian Navy on Tuesday detained a vessel travelling from Guyana carrying 21 bags of substances suspected to be cocaine, according to yesterday’s edition of the Ghana Business News quoting the Ghana News Agency. The vessel, “ATIYAH, George-Town”, according to a source, was travelling from Guyana. It was escorted by Ghana Naval Ship Yaa Asantewaa to the Sekondi Naval Base. The five men on board the ship together with the substances have been flown by a military helicopter to the nation’s capital, Accra, for further investigation, the Ghana Business News reported.
