Chief Librarian attached to the National Library Gillian Thompson, succumbed following an accident earlier today at the corner of New Garden Street and North Road.
Reports are that Thompson, 47, of 3276 Postal and Telecoms Workers Housing Scheme, North Ruimveldt, was travelling along North Road in a company vehicle,
when a white motor car, proceeding along New Garden Street, allegedly at a fast rate, collided with the vehicle.
She died on the spot. The driver of the vehicle she was in, is reported to be seriously injured. The occupants of the white car were not seriously injured. Sources say that the driver of the white motor car has been taken into police custody and is assisting with investigations.
