Fitzgerald, Hiralall win ‘501’ darts singles competitions

National men’s singles champion Sudesh Fitzgerald and former national ladies singles champion Jaswantie Hiralall won the male and female singles title when the Trophy Stall sponsored competition was contested last Friday at the Malteenoes Sports Club.

In the men’s singles competition Fitzgerald defeated Anthony Bissondyal 2-1 in the semi-finals and Lallchand Rambahrose 3-1 in the final which included a 143 points finish in the finals.

Rambahrose had earlier defeated Nicholas Seetram 2-0 to reach the final.

In the women’s singles competition Hiralall won from Shaundell Hyles, who had the highest checkout and Mary Correia, who were second and third respectively.

The Draw Doubles played earlier was won by the pair of Seetaram/Anil Latchman 3/0 from Anthony Bissondyal/Hyles who beat the pair of Fitzgerald/Sudesh Kumar in the semi-final 2/1.

The other losing semi-finalist was the pair of Hiralall/Rambahrose by a 2/0 margin to the eventual winners.
