Richmond scores sensational knockout of Walcott
—Nation’s Promotions Boxing Day Card
Derrick ‘Lights Out’ Richmond scored a sensational knockout over James Walcott (3-7-1) to clinch the vacant national super middleweight title on Boxing Day when Nation’s Promotions staged the ‘Linden Showdown’ at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground.
The 23-year old southpaw of Berbice caught Walcott with a thundering left to the jaw at two minutes and 57 seconds in the fourth round that sent him crashing to the canvas where he lay motionless for several tense moments. Richmond, who was coming off a TKO win over CABOFE middleweight champion, Edmond ‘Wonder Boy’ DeClou in October, improves his resume to three wins, one loss and a draw.
