Three men held after shots fired in Haslington robbery bid

At about 0515h. today, Police say that Dularie Rajkumar, 63 years, of South Haslington, ECD, was in her home when three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered through the open door.

The men held up Dularie Rajkumar and began assaulting her while demanding cash and jewellery. Rajkumar’s son Deonauth Rajkumar who is a licensed firearm holder, was alerted and came downstairs to his mother’s assistance.

The armed man discharged a round at Deonauth Rajkumar who returned fire hitting the man to his right hand.

The three perpetrators escaped out of the house and ran into another building some distance away, where they were subsequently arrested by the police.

Investigations are in progress.

Co-worker charged with murdering Gafoor’s manager
