An article in Monday’s edition (April 7) of Stabroek News headlined ‘Brazilian Association wants better measures for issuing of Guyanese work permits’, stated that Antonio Szala was the President of the Association. Szala is in fact the Secretary of the Association. Stabroek News regrets the error and any embarrassment caused.

Szala was quoted as saying: “We don’t know why things are being so frustrated. Some getting through while others aren’t and a large number of these people are being affected because they can’t go to the interior and work because they are getting put out by the GGDMA.”

Szala had said that it was the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission that was putting the workers out of the interior. Once again this newspaper regrets the error.
