Cyclist dies after De Willem accident

The police say that investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred at about 1500h yesterday on the De Willem Public Road, WCD, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Imran Mohamed, 56 years, of De Willem.

Investigations have so far revealed that Mohamed attempted to cross the roadway on his bicycle and was struck down by a motor lorry. He was admitted to the GPHC where he later succumbed to his injuries, police says.

The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
