Guyana’s first female pilot visits

Lucille Dawsey, Guyana’s first female pilot to fly in the country’s airspace, arrived at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri yesterday afternoon for a two-day visit.
A release from the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority said that Paula McAdam, former Director, Aviation Safety Regulations, Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Monica  Bipta, a GCAA staff, greeted Dawsey and her family at the Timehri facility.

GCAA will host a brunch for the veteran pilot today in recognition of her tireless contribution to the aviation sector.
The release said that Dawsey’s last visit to her homeland was in 1979.
