Speaking via telephone during an exclusive interview, Matthias said that while the agenda for the congress cannot be altered due to the forum being reconvened, the meeting will be used to discuss specific areas within the agenda as well as the development of associations.

“We will be discussing development of associations. It is my view that the congress ought to be the policy makers, the executive committee be the policy mangers and for the secretariat and member associations and affiliates to execute those policies.”

He added: “Many people would have said that administrative failures would have failed football development. I share a similar sentiment and what I know is that the role and responsibly of the congress, the executive committee and member associations have to be clearly defined, adopted and embraced.”

Asked who will be expected to attend the meeting, the GFF boss said: “We have asked presidents and secretaries of all associations and affiliates. “They are aware of the FIFA directive and the date for the reconvening of the congress.

“The executive committee will also need to fill the vacancy for the Vice President posts at the congress.”

Questioned about the names being touted to fill the two vacant GFF Vice President posts, the GFF boss said “Odinga Lumumba, Daniel Thomas, Jermaine Figueira, Nigel Garraway and Michael Martindale.”

Quizzed if there will be representation from FIFA, CONCACAF and CFU at the reconvened congress to act in the capacity of observers, Matthias said that representation from the international bodies is expected.
