Suspected accomplice in gas station attack in hospital

During this morning, Monday January 26, 2015, a man whose name has been given as Nicholas James, 23 years, went to the GPHC with a gunshot injury, the police said today.

He is under guard at the institution.

The police today said that investigations revealed that two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, drove up on a motor cycle to Choke’s Gas Station, Kersaint Park, LBI, ECD and held up Tiffany Hunte and relieved her of the articles. The perpetrators were confronted by the owner of the gas station, who is a licensed firearm holder, during which one of the men was shot to his abdomen.

He was later found lying next to the motor cycle on the Railway Embankment at LBI, ECD, and was taken to the GPHC where he was pronounced DOA.

He has been identified as Marvin King, 36 years, whose last known address was Better Hope Squatting Area, ECD. His accomplice, believed to be James, escaped.
