Remorseful teen gets 48-month sentence for knife-point robbery

Despite his remorse, an east La Penitence teenager was yesterday sentenced to 48 months in jail for committing a knife-point robbery.
The charge against Dowlyn Greene, called ‘Casper,’ 19, stated that on April 5, 2014, being together with others and armed with a knife at Freeman Street, East La Penitence, he robbed Dellon David of an Apple iPhone 4S, valued $90,000.
The police’s case, successfully made by Pro-secutor Shellon Daniels, was that on the day of the attack, at about 9pm, Greene and another approached David and placed a knife to his neck before removing his cell phone from his pants pocket. Greene, of Lot 112 Freeman, Street East

La Penitence, was later arrested and charged, while his alleged accomplice remains at large.
The matter was set down for sentencing yesterday after the defence attorney, Clive Forde, requested a probation report.
A probation officer yesterday presented the report on Greene and noted that he was seeking another chance.
Hving considered that Greene is a first time offender and his plea of remorse, Magistrate Judy Latchman sentenced Greene to 48 months in jail.
