Roy Lewis, 41, a vendor, of 348 Cummings Street, told Magistrate Annette Singh in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court 11 on Friday that he was not guilty and he also offered to give an explanation.

He was, however, asked to keep his explanation to himself until the court is ready to hear it at his trial.

The first charge stated that Lewis, on June 12th, on Regent Street, stole 12 pairs of shoes, which were valued $15,600 and which were the property of VJ Fashion.

On the same day on Regent Street, Lewis was also accused of unlawfully assaulting Jerry Austin. No details about the charges were presented to the court.

After no objection by Prosecutor Adduni Inniss, bail was set at $10,000 on the charge of simple larceny, while Lewis was released on self-bail on the charge of unlawful assault.
