Swimmers begin quest for medals today

Swimmers, Onika George and Omar Adams will push for the podium when the swimming segment of the 2015 Pan American Games starts today at the spanking new CIBC Aquatics Centre & Field House in Toronto, Canada.

George will compete in the women’s 50m and 100m free style events while Adams will compete in the men’s 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle races.

The duo will be tasked with winning Guyana’s first medals at this year’s games after the badminton, squash and rugby players were booted out of the Games on Friday.

Guyana will also be represented in Track and Field which starts on July 21 in North York.

Adam Harris (100 and 200m), Winston George (200 and 400m) and Jenea McCammon (triple jump) will be our representatives.

The July 10-26 Games features 36 Pan American-recognized summer sports.
