The gesture was made possible by the efforts of the government through the National Sports Commission (NSC) led by Jones and his team who have been doing some tremendous work in the sports fraternity over the past few months.

President of the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) Godfrey Monroe was also a part of the venture and he duly thanked Jones and company for assisting in the development of table tennis in schools.

Monroe explained that with the annual Digicel Schools table tennis tournament approaching, the students of both schools should fully utilize their new tables and begin preparing for the competition.

Jones, during brief remarks, said that the reintroduction of sports into the school system was very important for the development of students on an academic and recreational basis. The director also pointed out that more donations for the development of the respective sports will be carried out of the coming weeks.

He told the students that the idea to have a tennis table in the school was mainly due to one teacher who approached him about the initiative. Jones explained that while the table should be utilized in order to have the school possibly participate in the upcoming tourney, coaches will also be visiting the schools to ensure that the top crop of tennis players are further assisted in their quest to reach the top.
