A Corriverton man is now at the Skeldon Public Hospital after he was stung by a swarm of bees while in his backyard on Saturday afternoon.

Harrinarine Ramdas also known as “Eno”, 47, of Lot 78 Village, is now a patient at the Skeldon Public Hospital. According to relatives, as of yesterday afternoon the man was in a stable condition.

Stabroek News was told that Ramdas ventured to his backyard just around 2 pm and was attacked by the bees. “The bees them start come from the sawmill over that side and me na bin get on shirt and a whole sixty something a them bite me from me head to me belly”, the man relayed yesterday.

Several other relatives who were in the yard quickly took cover after they heard Ramdas screaming and observed that he was being attacked by the bees.

After the man collapsed, he was eventually picked up and rushed to the Skeldon Public Hospital.

Via telephone, Ramdas yesterday told Stabroek News that he remains fearful of returning home. He said that the sawmill next to him has several old machines which he believes the bees are inhabiting. He said that he is also worried for his children who sometimes play in the backyard.
