A huge fire broke out at La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara at 11.40 pm yesterday and at press time three buildings were engulfed and the fire service was desperately trying to save a fourth.
Stabroek News was told that the fire started in the three-storey ND&S furniture store and spread to two residences on either side.
The fire service was on the scene but reports are that up to early this morning it has been experiencing difficulties sourcing water because the level in the trenches is low.
