GAWU voices disgust over new Skeldon factory

The sugar union GAWU this evening voiced its disgust over the beleaguered US$100M new Skeldon sugar factory.

It reported that the factory was down for 12 hours yesterday because of a problem with the factory’s lone boiler.

The main sugar union urged the Guyana Sugar Corporation to truthfully advise the nation on the state of affairs with the new factory which has suffered a string of problems and is already being termed a white elephant. (More in tomorrow’s issue.)
