Alpha United back in the game

Alpha United Football Club President Odinga Lumumba today wrote to the Guyana Football Federation accepting the prize money and kit sponsorship that were originally on offer for the popular end-of-year K&S tourney.

K&S last week said that Alpha had ruled itself out by not accepting the prize money and kit sponsorship on offer while calling for higher monies. It was then announced that Anns Grove would replace Alpha.

Since then there were talks between the clubs and K&S and a decision was agreed on raising the preparation fees for the teams. However, the prize money and kit sponsorship remain the same: $2M in cash and $5M in kit sponsorship for the winners.

Alpha confirmed in writing to the GFF General Secretary Noel Adonis that this was acceptable to it.

There was no immediate word from K&S on this development.
