Ryan Crawford Memorial horse race meet on today at Alness

Seven races are expected to be completed on the day’s card with $2.5 million in cash and prizes up for grabs.

The `C’ Class match up will be the feature race of the day while three other feature events; the three-year-old maidens bred in Guyana and West Indies, the `E’ and Lower and the `G’ Class gallops will be run over a distance of 1400m.

The `C’ Class race sponsored by Banks DIH has a winning purse of $300,000 and the Banks DIH trophy. This race will feature the return of the veteran Delmur Gold racing against Anny’s Playmate, Illogical, Sweet Caramel, Laura Lee in Flight, Madama Butterfly, The Gap, Miss Orientate, Miss Republic, The Message and Sweet Romance.

The three-year-old match up has winning purse of $200,000 and the main entrants are Infinity, Little Caeser, Stormy Lass, Celebration Time, Little Spike, O’ SO Sharp and Mona Lisa. The E Class race will see the winner taking home $200,000 and the horses in the line up are Debatable, Romantic Passion, Laura Lee in Flight, Sir Balajie, Madam Butterfly, The Gap, Night Crescendo, Face De Music, Pegasus Rising, Pyro Flo and Fresh Prospect.

The `G’ Class winnings is set at $ 150,000 and the horses expected to compete are Gigli, Gold Romance, Finishing Touch, Sir Balajie, Huckstable, Amy Jane, Fire Power, Stylish Line, Pegasus Rising, Face De Music, Pyro Flo and Baby Boy.

In the `I’ and Lower category which has a first prize of $100,000, 17 horses entered to contest this race. Some of the top runners in the event are Pixie Fire, Justice Leroy, Custom Warrior, Casino Royal, Strike the Fire, Star Streak, Funny Sided and Clear Victory.

Unclassified Division One has a first prize of $80,000 and the Unclassified Divisions two and three will see top horses taking home $60,000 and among the entered in these two events are Bounty Flyer, Beyonce, Power Master, Silver Kid, Blessed Child and Ice Man.

There will also be trophies for the top jockeys and trainers on show during the day’s meet compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall in Bourda Market.
