Campbellville man granted bail over ganja charge

A man accused by the police of having a gramme of cannabis in his possession was yesterday placed on $5,000 bail when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on November 24 at Georgetown, Prince Pickering had in his possession one gramme of cannabis. The labourer of 21 Campbellville Housing Scheme pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics. The prosecution had no objection the man being granted bail.

Pickering was later placed on $5,000 bail. His matter was transferred to Court Five for December 1.
