Demerara Cricket Board AGM stayed after Sanasie goes to court

The Annual General Meeting planned by the Demerara Cricket Board for today was stayed on December 24th by Chief Justice Ian Chang following an application by Anand Sanasie, a member of the board.

An advertisement in the January 1st, 2011 edition of the Guyana Chronicle said that upon hearing the ex-parte application by way of affidavit on the part of Sanasie sworn to and filed on December 23rd, the Chief Justice ordered that the meeting as advertised in the Stabroek News of 1st December, 2010 be stayed until the hearing and determination of the originating summons in another matter. The summons relates to the removal of Sanasie and others for allegedly failing to attend four consecutive meetings of the board.

The Chief Justice’s order was directed to Bissoondyal Singh and Samaroo Jailall.
