A Number 19 Village businessman was attacked and robbed by armed bandits on Saturday evening and is now nursing wounds to the head inflicted by a cutlass beating.
Arjune Mahadeo, 35, of 37 White Bridge Street, No 19 Village, Corentyne was assaulted by four masked bandits who were armed with a gun and cutlasses. The men robbed Mahadeo’s restaurant and grocery of his day’s earnings along with $80,000 cash before making good their escape.
