More than 2700 registrations in Suriname gold sector

(De Ware Tijd)  – Since the registration of those involved in the small-scale gold sector started on Monday, more than 2700 people have registered at the different posts. In Paramaribo, 210 people have registered as of yesterday, while more than 2500 registered at the posts at Merian and Afobaka together. Due to the massive turnout in the hinterland, the stock of registration forms and other supplies soon ran out. The management team in charge of the registration had not counted on such a turnout. On Tuesday, the head of the management team structuring gold sector, Gerold Dompig, traveled to Meriankondre and Brokopondo to observe the proceedings and provide extra information.
