A man was last night run over by a speeding car on the Ruimzigt, West Coast Demerara Public Road after he fell on the roadway in a drunken stupor.
Commander of D Division Balram Persaud told Stabroek News this morning that the yet to be identified man fell between two cars but the body was half way out on the roadway. A car that was passing ran over him just before midnight last night and he was killed instantly. Persaud that there was a wedding reception in the area, which the man had attended, and he was leaving when the tragedy occurred.
The police are investigating.
