Nandlall says he was misrepresented by media

Attorney Anil Nandlall said yesterday that he was misrepresented by the media when he claimed that Sport Minister Dr. Frank Anthony had recognised the Bissoondyal Singh-led faction as the legitimate body to administer cricket in Demerara. Nandlall told Stabroek Sport yesterday that “I have not misrepresented the minister and will never misrepresent a minister by saying what was reported in some sections of the press.”

He reiterated that he was misrepresented, declaring that what he had actually said at his press conference on January 29 was “he (the minister) received a call from the other faction (which is led by Anand Sanasie) to meet with them and he (the minister) said to me (Nandlall) that he has already met with the Demerara Cricket Board executives.” Yesterday Stabroek News tried unsuccessfully to reach the minister.  The minister had claimed in another section of the press that he had never spoken to Nandlall concerning the DCB and the legitimate executive body.
