Jamaica beat Guyana by 165 runs

Jamaica beat Guyana by 165 runs before tea on the final day of their first round match in the WICB Regional first-class championship today at Alpart Sports Club.

Guyana, chasing 359 for victory, were dismissed for 193 with Rajendra Chandrika falling three runs short of a half century. Derwin Christian (32), Shemroy Barrington (31) and Leon Johnson (23) got starts but failed to convert to any meaningful score to save the Guyanese, who continue their miserable run in the First Class tournament.

Jamaica’s Odean Brown spearheaded the bowling attack with 5-69 and got good support from Jerome Taylor (3-40) and Tamar Lambert (2-43).
