The 55-year-old veteran of the Guyana Police Force will also be responsible for preparing and managing the execution of the International Cricket Council’s Anti-Corruption Security Unit’s requirements at all WICB Regional Tournaments. Slowe will also spearhead the development of the standardization of security plans and minimum security standards for WICB events across the region.

“It is a progressive move by the WICB to appoint a Security Manager as it demonstrates a cognizance of the need to ensure the safety and security of players, officials and the fans at all times,” Slowe said in the release.

“My entire career has been in law enforcement and I will bring that experience to this new position. I have also had the benefit of working at high level cricket tournaments in the region and other regional events involving mass crowds,” Slowe added.

He said it will require meticulous planning and coordination.
