A Bourda market vendor died in a hit and run accident at the corner of Middleton Street and Campbell Avenue last evening.
Dead is Linden Smartt of 51 Robb Street, Bourda.
Police sources have confirmed that the driver, a Kitty resident is in custody after ranks traced his licence plate number which was handed over by eyewitnesses.
Reports are that Smartt was on a bicycle heading to his employer’s home at Kitty railway line when he was struck down by a motor pickup. The accident occurred just after 1800 hours.
Smartt died on the scene.
